Heute ist morgen schon gestern
Das sagt und liest sich so leicht und ist trotzdem tiefgründig und eigentlich selbstverständlich.
Dieser Satz ist für mich eine spielerische Mahnung an die Vergänglichkeit und daran, dass das Heute nur allzu schnell vergeht. Handeln, das Leben aktiv gestalten können wir nur heute. All unser Tun und Wirken ist beschränkt auf diesen Moment.
Jetzt.
In dem zu dieser Redensart entstandenen Triptychon, leuchtet das JETZT in der Mitte. Links verglimmt das Heute in der Vergangenheit, wird zum gelebten Leben, beschriebenen Papier. Und das Morgen, das hoffnungsvolle blaue Fenster, gibt den Blick in die Zukunft noch nicht frei.

Today is the Yesterday of Tomorrow
It’s easy enough to say or read, but the message, simple and clear as it seems, is profound.
To me, these words are a playful reminder of transitoriness, of the fact that today will be gone so soon. We lead and build our lives only today. Whatever we do and pursue: it takes place at this moment in time.
Now.
I painted the triptych to translate this notion into pictures. TODAY is shining in the middle. On the left, the present dies down to become the past, a story told, written down on a sheet of paper. Tomorrow is represented by a window of hopeful blue colour. The future, however, is not yet revealed.
